The Fort Worth ISD school board group Jan. 30 approved the district’s 2024-25 academic year calendars. The vote was 8-0, with trustee Quinton “Q” Phillips absent.

The next school year begins Aug. 13 and ends May 22, 2025. 

Students will be in class for 173 days. 

Texas requires school districts to inform about 75,600 minutes every year to be given funding. The new calendar has intended 77,850 minutes of instruction for depiction 2024-25 school year, according to regional documents.

Two committees of parents, community liveware and district staff advised administrators testimony the calendars, district officials said.
